Alishay Pringle, Founder

Alishay is a native of Atlanta, GA. She holds a Bachelor in Information Technology and a Masters in Information Technology Project Management. In 2012, Alishay started Juanita’s Heart non-profit in honor of her mother the late Juanita Norwood Mikell. Juanita’s Heart gives women and young girls who are disadvantaged, an opportunity to advance beyond their current state. Helping women and young girls is dear to Alishay heart, as she herself was a product of a single parent household. She experienced first hand, the power of education for women and young girls, and the impact it has on the entire family.
Alishay’s mother the late Juanita Norwood Mikell, instilled the values of philanthropy and being a catalyst for social change in Alishay from a very young age. Alishay firmly believes that education is the key to success. In Haiti and the U.S. Juanita’s Heart organization sends young girls and women to school. Through its programs such as “A Girls Heart” they empower young girls to be a catalyst for social change. The program also addresses tough issues such as Sex trafficking. One of Alishay’s favorite Oprah quotes is “Every one of us gets through the tough times because somebody is there, standing in the gap to close it for us” – Oprah Winfrey. Her goal and mission is to be that person standing in the gap for many women and young girls throughout the world.
